Create, manage, and browse student portfolios
Folios Overview
Folios are digital portfolios that allow you to showcase your work, achievements, and learning progress. They provide a way to organize and present your academic accomplishments over time.
Accessing Folios
Navigate to Folios from:
- Sidebar Menu: Click "Folios" in the navigation sidebar
- Direct URL:
/folios
Note: Folios must be enabled by your school administrator. If you don't see the Folios option or get an error message, contact your school's IT department.
Folios Features
The Folios page provides two main functions:
Edit My Folios
Create and manage your personal portfolios:
- Build your own folios
- Add content and artifacts
- Organize your work
- Share with teachers or peers
Browse Folios
Explore and view available folios:
- Browse school-wide folios
- View example portfolios
- See shared folios
- Get inspiration for your own
Creating a Folio
Starting a New Folio
- Click "Edit My Folios"
- Click "New Folio" or "+" button
- Enter folio details:
- Title: Name of your folio
- Description: What this folio contains
- Subject: Link to a subject (optional)
- Year: Academic year
Adding Content
- Open your folio
- Click "Add Item" or "+"
- Choose content type:
- Document: Upload files
- Image: Add photos or screenshots
- Link: Link to external content
- Text: Write descriptions or reflections
Organizing Content
- Drag and Drop: Reorder items
- Sections: Group related items
- Categories: Tag and categorize
- Timeline: Organize chronologically
Editing Folios
Modifying Content
- Click on any item in your folio
- Edit details:
- Change title or description
- Update content
- Modify tags or categories
- Change visibility settings
Deleting Items
- Select the item
- Click delete icon
- Confirm deletion
Note: Deleted items cannot be recovered.
Sharing Folios
Sharing Options
- Private: Only you can see it
- Teachers: Share with your teachers
- Peers: Share with classmates
- Public: Share with everyone (if enabled)
Sharing Process
- Open your folio
- Click "Share" button
- Select sharing level
- Add specific recipients (if applicable)
- Save settings
Browsing Folios
Viewing Available Folios
- Click "Browse Folios"
- Browse by:
- Category: Subject or type
- Year: Academic year
- Author: Who created it
- Recent: Latest folios
Folio Details
When viewing a folio, you can see:
- Title and Description: What it's about
- Content Items: All included materials
- Author Information: Who created it
- Date Created: When it was made
- Last Updated: Most recent changes
Folio Best Practices
Content Organization
- Clear Structure: Organize logically
- Descriptive Titles: Make items easy to find
- Regular Updates: Keep folios current
- Quality Over Quantity: Focus on meaningful work
Presentation
- Professional Appearance: Clean and organized
- Consistent Formatting: Uniform style
- Good Descriptions: Explain your work
- Reflection: Include learning reflections
Maintenance
- Regular Review: Update periodically
- Remove Outdated: Keep content relevant
- Backup Important: Save copies elsewhere
- Privacy Check: Review sharing settings
Troubleshooting
Folios Not Available
Possible causes:
- Feature not enabled by school
- Account permissions
- School configuration

Cannot Create Folio
Check:
- Folios feature is enabled
- You have creation permissions
- Storage space available

Content Not Loading
